Cord-Cutting Lite
Purpose
To gently release emotional tension or lingering energetic attachment between you and another person. This spell softens the connection and restores your personal space without fully severing the bond.
Expected Outcome
A lighter emotional field, reduced looping thoughts, and a calmer sense of separation between your energy and theirs.
When to Use
Use this spell when someone’s energy feels too close, you feel drained after interactions. Or you need emotional breathing room.
Tools & Ingredients
Two small candles
Short cord or string
Piece of paper
Pen or pencil
Optional: object representing yourself
Optional: object representing the other person
Protection Circle
Recommended — keeps the release clean and gentle.
Opening
Sit comfortably with your feet flat on the floor.
Place the paper before you.
Write the name of the person or draw a symbol representing them.
Fold the paper once.
Place your candle on the left and theirs on the right.
Tie the cord loosely between the two candles.
Light both candles.
Take a slow breath and let your shoulders soften.
Spell
Hold the folded paper in your hands.
Speak:
“I release what is not mine. I return to myself.”
Place the paper beneath your candle.
Watch the cord gently warm as the candles burn.
Speak:
“My energy is my own. I am steady and clear.”
When the cord burns through or falls away, imagine the connection softening — not ending, just easing.
Sit for a moment and let the feeling of spaciousness settle.
Aftercare
Let the candles burn out safely. If needed, snuff them — don’t blow them out. Keep the folded paper somewhere out of sight for one day.
Disposal
Tear the paper into small pieces and throw it away or bury it. Do not burn — this is a gentle release spell.
Safety Notes
Use fire safely. Keep the cord short so flames cannot travel.
Practitioner Notes
Record the spell in your grimoire with the date, moon phase, intention, and any shifts in clarity or emotional spaciousness afterward.
