Grounding
Purpose
To settle scattered energy, calm the body, and bring your awareness back into the present moment. This spell anchors your attention and restores inner steadiness.
Expected Outcome
A calmer breath, clearer thoughts, and a steady sense of being fully present in your own body.
When to Use
Use this spell when you feel overwhelmed, unfocused, emotionally scattered, or disconnected from yourself.
Tools & Ingredients
A piece of paper
A pen or pencil
Optional: a small grounding object (stone, coin, or anything with weight)
Protection Circle
Not required — grounding itself stabilizes your field.
Opening
Sit comfortably with your feet flat on the floor.
Hold your grounding object (if using) and feel its weight.
Take a slow breath and let your shoulders soften.
Place the paper before you.
Write a word or short phrase that reflects the feeling you want to anchor into: steady, present, calm, grounded.
Fold the paper once and place it in your lap or hold it in your hands.
Spell
Take a slow breath in through your nose.
Exhale through your mouth, imagining your breath moving downward into your body.
Speak:
“Bring me back to center. Steady me here.”
Take another slow breath and imagine your energy settling — like sand gently falling to the bottom of a jar.
If using a grounding object, hold it for a moment and let its weight remind you of your own steadiness.
Aftercare
Keep the folded paper somewhere close — a pocket, a bag, or a place you reach often. Touch it whenever you need a moment of calm.
Disposal
Keep the paper as long as you want.
If you choose to release it, burn or bury it with intention.
Safety Notes
If grounding brings up emotion, pause and breathe slowly until your body settles.
Practitioner Notes
Record the spell in your grimoire with the date, moon phase, intention, and any shifts in steadiness or clarity you notice afterward.
