Home Protection / Threshold Salt

Purpose

To create a quiet protective boundary at your home’s entrance, keeping unwanted energy out and supporting a peaceful, stable environment inside.

Expected Outcome

A calmer home atmosphere, reduced energetic intrusion, and a stronger sense of safety and steadiness at your threshold.

When to Use

Use this spell when your home feels unsettled, after draining interactions, when guests leave behind lingering energy, or anytime you want to reinforce your boundaries.

Tools & Ingredients

·         A pinch of salt

·         A small piece of paper

·         A pen or pencil

·         Optional: a tiny protective object (button, bead, charm, or small stone)

Protection Circle

Not required — threshold work is naturally boundary‑focused.

Opening

·         Sit near the door you use most often.

·         Take a slow breath and let your attention settle into the doorway.

·         Place the paper before you.

·         Write a short phrase that reflects your intention for your home: “Only peace enters.” “My home is protected.” “This space is safe.”

·         Fold the paper once, bringing the words inward.

·         Hold it gently and let your intention settle.

Spell

·         Place the folded paper just inside the doorway.

·         Take a pinch of salt and sprinkle a thin line across the inside of the threshold. It can be subtle — even a light dusting carries the spell.

Speak:

“Peace enters here. What does not belong stays out.”

·         If using a protective object, place it near the door as a small anchor for the boundary.

Aftercare

Leave the salt in place, sweep it away after a few days, or refresh it whenever the boundary feels like it needs strengthening.

Disposal

Keep the intention paper as long as you want. If you choose to release it, burn or bury it with intention.

Safety Notes

Avoid placing salt where it may damage flooring. Use only a small amount if pets are present.

Practitioner Notes

Record the spell in your grimoire with the date, moon phase, intention, and any shifts in the home’s atmosphere you notice afterward.
