Slow the Turning of Time
Purpose
To ease the pace of time, slow the feeling of life rushing forward, and create space to accomplish, savor, and enjoy more of the moments you have.
Expected Outcome
A softened sense of time, a slower internal rhythm, and a clearer ability to stay present in the moment rather than feeling swept along by the pace of life.
When to Use
Use this spell when life feels too fast, when days blur together, or when you need time to stretch so you can savor what’s right in front of you.
Tools & Ingredients
Optional additions may include:
A deity or guide associated with time, stillness, or clarity
Crystals such as amethyst, blue calcite, or lepidolite
Correspondences aligned with slowing, grounding, or widening perception
Planetary timing (Saturn hour for slowing, Moon hour for softening)
Incense or oils that support calm, such as lavender or chamomile
Protection Circle
A circle is not required. This spell works inwardly, shifting perception rather than invoking external forces.
Opening
Close your eyes and feel the energy of the world rushing by: a blur, a streak, the sensation of speeding down a highway with everything around you moving too quickly to see.
Take a deep breath and let it out slowly.
Focus on the rise and fall of your breath, the way it moves in and out like a tide.
Let each inhale soften you. Let each exhale slow the world around you.
Keep breathing until you can imagine yourself stepping out of the speeding car and onto solid ground, walking at your own pace.
When your body settles, begin the spell.
Spell
Close your eyes and breathe slowly.
Visualize the world easing around you.
Let your breath set the pace.
Speak:
“May the world slow down while we keep moving with purpose. May time bend, creating space for what matters. May our days stretch gently, giving us room to breathe, to grow, to savor. A quiet widening of life, one moment at a time.”
Stay in the softened rhythm for a few breaths.
Open your eyes gently and return to your day.
Aftercare
There are no physical tools to tend in this spell. Aftercare is internal: allow your breath to remain steady, your pace softened, and your awareness widened. If you added optional tools, return them to their usual resting place.
Disposal
None required. If any optional incense, herbs, or wax were used, dispose of remnants respectfully: ashes may be scattered outdoors, herbs can be composted, and cooled wax can be discarded or saved for future stillness work.
